Story behind the Teddy Bear🧸
The Teddy Bear is named after the 26th President of USA, Theodore Roosevelt. When Roosevelt became the President in 1901, lot of people affectionately called him Teddy. Actually it was his first wife used to call him Teddy. After her death, he did not want anyone to call him Teddy again and so he asked his fans to call him TR instead. But they kept him calling Teddy again even after his request. One day in 1902, the Mississippi governor invited him for bear hunting. At that time, hunting was a favorite pastime of the wealthy. Roosevelt accepted the invitation and joined the hunting team in the forest. There was a helper to show them the way through the trees and bushes. Even after long hours in the forest, the team couldn't spot any bear. Thinking that the President would be angry, the helper decided to catch a bear at any cost and he caught a bear with the help of hound dogs and tied it to a tree for the president to shoot down. But the President did not shoot that bear and he bec
